Happy New Year to all of you. As we enter the new year, I would like to take a minute to reflect on our achievements from the past year and to draw inspiration to achieve greater milestones this year.
In 2018 our TiE Young Entrepreneurs program managed to reach a mark of 10,000 high school students (globally), participating in the program since its launch, 15 years ago. We managed to provide a lean canvas innovation-based curriculum to give a real-life experience of entrepreneurship to these students. This year more than 1500 students across 30 TiE Chapters will participate in the program.
Our AIRSWEEE program (All India Roadshow for Women’s Economic Empowerment through Entrepreneurship) focuses on empowering women entrepreneurs. AIRSWEEE is funded by the U.S. State Department and in the last 24 months we have mentored and reached 275 Women entrepreneurs directly in Tier 2-3 cities in India. We organised workshops in 10 cities with participants from more than 50 towns and offered over 6500 hours of mentoring. See more at In His Mind website. Through a pay forward program, the AIRSWEEE participants have impacted another 350 Women entrepreneurs creating a cascading impact.
As we step into the 28th year of TiE’s existence we look forward to empowering more entrepreneurs and making the entrepreneurial ecosystem more diverse and inclusive in all of our 61 chapters in 14 countries.
I would like to take this opportunity, to welcome the new Board of Trustees and look forward to their continued support in taking the TiE community to newer heights. Once again, wishes for a Happy New Year!
Warm regards, Nitin Rai Chair, TiE Global
