TiE Global Summit III – Entrepreneurship: Driving Employment, Driving Growth
Furthering its vision to nurture entrepreneurship, TiE Global and TiE Delhi-NCR hosted the 3rd edition of TiE Global Summit at Taj Palace in New Delhi. The event that spanned over two days, 29th and 30th November 2018, was themed ‘Entrepreneurship: Driving Employment, Driving Growth’.
TiE’s 3rd Global Summit was supported by The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP). The summit was backed by several industry giants including The Lemelson Foundation, Motwani Jadeja Foundation, Google, Indian Angel Network Fund, Kalaari Capital and PayU among others.
Some of the keynote addresses at this year’s TGS included Mr Suresh Prabhu, Union Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation; Ms Asha Jadeja Motwani, Motwani Jadeja Foundation; Mr Kishore Biyani, CEO, Future Group; Mr Rishad Premji, Chief Strategy Officer & Member of the Board, Wipro; Dhiraj Rajaram, Founder – MuSigma; Fashion Guru Prasad Bidapa; among others. A Special Address for Charter Members was delivered by Hon’ble Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Mr Jayant Sinha.
The summit hosted 2600+ delegates, 175+ speakers and 50+ sessions and outdid its previous editions with the presence of numerous industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs and government officials, who came together to shed light on the theme and offered their insights and experiences.
The 3rd edition of the TiE Global Summit also facilitated funding opportunities through Investor Lounges. TGS III offered a chance for high potential entrepreneurs to present their business plan within 4 major verticals including Angel & Seed, Series A, Incubators, and Social Entrepreneurship. About 100 investors participated in the TiE Global Summit, and over 35 curated pitches were facilitated.

Inaugural Ceremony of TiEcon Kerala 2018 – ‘Rebuild Kerala – Leveraging Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies’
The 7th edition of TiEcon Kerala 2018 had over 1000 delegates, more than 60 speakers, addressing over 40 sessions spread over 2 days. Mr SD Shibulal, Co-founder, Former CEO & MD, Infosys Ltd and Co-founder Axilor Ventures Ltd was the Guest of Honour for the Inaugural function. Mrs Aruna Sundararajan IAS, Secretary, Telecom and Chairman Telecom Commission, Government of India was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function.
On account of the recent floods that hit Kerala and the devastation that followed, the theme of TiEcon 2018 was “Rebuild Kerala – Leveraging Entrepreneurship and Emerging Technologies”.
The highlights of this year’s TiEcon Kerala included Mentoring Master Classes; a Startup Pitching event which was organised at 4 different districts with 150 Startups participating and culminating in a grand finale at Kochi which awarded the best 3 pitches. Apart from this, a ‘Rebuild Kerala’ Ideation Contest for B-Schools was launched to provide young minds with an opportunity to put forward ideas and innovative thoughts towards Rebuilding the state by leveraging Entrepreneurship and Technology.
