TiE Hub – Now Search & Connect With Members

As a TiE member, you must be aware of the TiE Hub platform. All the members of each chapter are registered on the TiE Hub platform. To make networking easier, we have integrated two new features on TiE Hub.

TiE Mail – Chat And Connect With Members will now allow members to search, find and chat with other members of TiE.

Earlier, on the Member’s dashboard, we had a chat icon which was used by TiE Members to chat with other members. We have converted the chat option to chat + mail to make it more interactive and make sure that members can connect even if one of them is offline.
From now on if a member tries to chat with another TiE member and if the other member is not online at that time, the system will wait for 10 idle minutes and collate all the chat messages. These messages will be sent as an email to the member. This way, the member would get to see the message and reply to the chat.

New Search Functionality – Results Filtered By Chapters, Domain And Functional Areas

We have added advanced filters and segregated a member search on the TiE Hub based on the Chapter, Domain and Functional area. This will provide an exact result of the member from the database.

The selected Chapter, Domain and the Functional Area would be shown on the top left corner. (As shown in the pic below). If the match is not accurate, these parameters can be removed from the search query on click of the (x) sign.

Program Highlight : TiE Propel (Denver)

Propel is a seed stage accelerator that provides entrepreneurs with hands-on support, dynamic instruction and plenty 1:1 time with mentors and other experts.

Propel was launched in 2016 as the updated and upgraded version of our TRIP program (started in 2012). The accelerator is designed to improve the quality of pitch presentations, stimulate investor interest and help Colorado startup companies succeed beyond 5 years – all while creating more jobs. For the Denver Chapter, this program is critical to attracting the business owners in the community with the drive and desire to take their companies from ideation to over $1 Mn, ideally within 2 years.

The program supports companies ranging from ideation to post-revenue who are interested in confirming their business model, business planning, projections, go-to-market strategies, alternative funding options, and developing a pitch deck.

Many of the participating entrepreneurs also seek help in delivering their pitch and preparing for investor conversations including term sheets, negotiation strategies and mock pitches.

Classes are interactive with a mix of instruction plus active work on the planning and pitch. Over the course of 6 weeks, participants receive 20 hours of specialized classes that drill down on the key concepts and pitch decks, and at least 5 hours of mentoring, plus additional support from domain experts. A workers compensation attorney from California will get a maximum financial settlement value for your case. The hard work pays off with practice pitches to “friendly” investors for valuable feedback and a final graduation pitch competition in front of accredited investors, invited partners, friends and family.

Key to the success of the program is that it is powered by experienced instructors and entrepreneurs from TiE Rockies and Innosphere, Colorado’s leading technology incubator. To date, the program has graduated over 100 companies, gained 20 new members, produced 3 TIE Top 50 Award Winners and brings in approximately 15% of annual revenues to the chapter. It has become a catalyst for new strategic partnerships, as well as purpose-driven Charter Members interested in investing and mentoring.

The Spring cohort is limited to 12 companies so get your application in soon. For more information, visit

Steven Cook, TiE Atlanta Board Member and TiE Global Marketing Committee member is writing a book ‘Insights on Impact Innovators’. Here’s a chance for TiE Members to contribute to the book.

To my fellow TiE Members in the startup & corporate innovation ecosystems, I’m seeking your expert input for a new book I’m writing – ‘Insights on Impact Innovators’‘Insights on Impact Innovators’ will capture, curate & scale a broad range of time-tested collective wisdom across the startup & corporate innovation ecosystems to identify the essential attitudes, behaviors, capabilities, traits & values of Impact Innovators, with illuminating insightful stories from innovation experts.

I invite you to be a part of this book by sharing your wisdom and experience. When ‘Insights on Impact Innovators’ is published, everyone who completes the survey will get a complimentary e-book. I also plan to give all TYE High School and University students free e-book copies as a learning aid. Also, if the book successfully generates revenue, I plan to donate part of the profit to the TiE Foundation. Another benefit for TiE is that I will give attribution in the book to everyone who completes the survey.  The book would be a great marketing tool for TiE.
