TiE Global Charter Member Retreat

Marseille
Is Calling.

Some retreats give you a programme. This one gives you a moment in time you will not want to have missed.

July 3 – 6, 2026
Marseille, France

There is something about a Mediterranean summer — the quality of the light, the pace of the evenings, the way strangers become collaborators over a shared table — that no conference hall has ever replicated. TiE's Global Charter Member Retreat has always understood this. And in July 2026, Marseille, France's oldest city and one of its most alive, becomes our canvas.

This is not a conference with social events appended to it. The TiE Global CM Retreat is, by design, the inverse: three days of shared experience, anchored by one extraordinary city, punctuated by the conversations and connections that only happen when the right people are removed from their routines and placed somewhere genuinely worth being.

After an extensive on-the-ground recce, we can say with confidence: the venues are exceptional, the experiences are curated, and the stage is fully set. What follows is your invitation to be in the room.

"TiE Retreats are where global TiE relationships do not just continue — they deepen. The balcony conversation. The dinner that runs two hours over. The handshake that becomes a partnership. These things do not happen on a Zoom call."

— The Case for Being in the Room

One Hotel.
No Fragmentation.

Every Charter Member at this retreat will be under one roof: the InterContinental Marseille – Hôtel Dieu, an 18th-century royal hospital transformed into the city's finest luxury hotel, perched above the Old Port with sweeping views of the Mediterranean.

This is a deliberate choice. Retreats forge the deepest personal bonds when members are not scattered across properties. When everyone is in the same place — in the same corridors, the same terrace at breakfast, the same lounge after dinner — the serendipitous encounters multiply. That is where TiE's real work happens.

A dedicated Charter Member Lounge will serve as an all-day gathering point. The grand Salle Des Honneurs — 414 square metres of architectural grandeur — stands ready. And the terrace, opening directly onto panoramic harbour views, sets the stage for the opening night.

The Terrace Welcome Dinner

InterContinental Hôtel Dieu

Golden Mediterranean light. The Old Port shimmering below. Charter Members from across the world, reconnecting. The welcome dinner takes place on the hotel's own terrace — no transfers, no logistics, just the moment itself. Our Executive Chef brings deep Indian cuisine mastery; Provençal elegance meets the palate of our community.

Fort Saint-Jean, Marseille

A 17th-century sea-facing fortress, exclusively ours for the evening. Cocktails on the ramparts. Black tie against a Mediterranean backdrop that no ballroom can manufacture. Grand Finale · Day 3

DJ Night by the Sea

Beachside Venue · 20 min from HQ

The final evening sheds its formality. Open air, sea breeze, curated music, casual dress. Twenty minutes from the hotel and a world away from the boardroom. Because some of the most meaningful collaborations in TiE's history did not begin in a plenary. They began, barefoot, somewhere like this.

Two Discoveries
We Did Not Expect.

The recce surfaces things no amount of online research reveals. Two experiences, unearthed on the ground, are now under consideration for the programme.

Château d'If New

A short ferry from the Old Harbour to Marseille's legendary island fortress — the real-world setting that inspired Alexandre Dumas' Count of Monte Cristo. Dramatic, atmospheric, and unlike anything else on the programme.

Provençal Cooking Masterclass New

A chef-led deep dive into the soul of Provençal cuisine — ratatouille, tapenade, and a dedicated vegetarian Bouillabaisse track. Market-to-table format. Hands-on. Genuinely convivial.

Why This Retreat
Is Different.

Every retreat has beautiful venues. That is table stakes. What makes a TiE CM Retreat worth the journey is something harder to put on a slide: the quality of who is in the room, and what happens between them.

Global Chairs. Serial founders. Cross-border investors. Operators building across continents. When this community gathers — not virtually, not at a chapter event, but together, over three days in one place — the conversations that emerge have a different weight. Ideas that would have taken six months of email threads to surface materialise over dinner. Partnerships that looked complicated in a boardroom become obvious on a terrace.

The retreat is where TiE's global network stops being a directory and becomes a living, breathing community with shared memory, shared experience, and shared momentum.

"The only thing worse than missing a flight to Marseille is hearing about the conversations you were not part of."

— On the Cost of Waiting

Our room block at the InterContinental is 100 rooms. 55 are already taken.

Registered (55)
Available (45)

Once the Saver window closes and the room block fills, the core HQ experience — the lounge, the terrace breakfasts, the spontaneous late-night conversations in the corridors — becomes harder to access. The room block is the retreat.

If Marseille is even a "maybe" for you — make it a yes. The people who are already registered are not waiting.

TiE Global CM Retreat 2026

Marseille is Ready.
Are You?

The venues are validated. The catering is confirmed. The experiences are curated. The only question remaining is whether you will be part of it.
